Car rental conditions in Dubai - how to rent a car in Dubai: requirements and features

To rent a car in Dubai or Abu Dhabi with Habat Car Rental, the following requirements and conditions apply:

Valid International Driving Permit (IDL). Habat staff can assist in obtaining one.
Visitors from certain countries can drive with their national driver's license.

Damage to tires, hubcaps, antennas, and windshields is not covered by insurance.
Insurance does not cover damage incurred on unpaved roads, while towing, racing, or driving under the influence.
Driving under the influence invalidates the insurance.
Insurance coverage applies only within the UAE.
An Accident Report (police report) is mandatory in case of an accident.

A valid credit card is required for a security deposit to cover additional costs like fuel, lease extensions, accidents, damages, toll roads (Salik), and traffic fines. By signing the lease agreement, the renter authorizes Habat Car Rental LLC to charge the provided credit card for any additional costs.
Car pick-up time is from 9:00 to 19:00 UAE local time. Delivery is confirmed by Habat Car Rental employees after receiving the reservation. Car delivery is chargeable. Delivery outside working hours is possible upon prior request at least 24 hours before car delivery.

Toll road (Salik): AED 5 per gate crossing (Dubai only); other toll roads in the UAE are subject to a service charge of AED 1 per pass.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling fee of AED 10 plus the actual cost of the fuel will be charged.
AED 60 service charge for traffic fines.
Airport parking charges vary by airport.
The refundable security deposit will be blocked on the Client's credit card. The security deposit for each car is listed on our website or you can contact us for details.
Allowable mileage: 200 km/day, 1050 km/week, 2000 km/month. Extra kilometers are charged at AED 0.5/km for Economy Class cars. Contact us for luxury car rates.
If the car key is locked inside, an unlocking fee of AED 50 applies. Lost key fees vary by car model and will be provided separately.

Online booking: Request a reservation on habatcarrental.com
Booking date: The rental start date specified by the client when booking.
Related payments: Salik fee, traffic fines, child seat, and other add-ons.
Auxiliary items: Child seat, GPS, and other add-ons provided with the car.
Online bookings must be paid with the credit card of the person entering the rental agreement. Bookings paid by someone else are invalid. By paying online, the client authorizes Habat Car Rental LLC to charge the same card for any additional costs.
The original tenant’s credit card must be presented at the time of lease with sufficient funds for the deposit. Online booking is not a rental agreement; the agreement is signed at the time of lease.

Changes must be requested by email to habat.carrental@gmail.com. Payment differences will be recalculated and communicated. A change fee of AED 40 applies.
The client’s name on the booking cannot be changed. To change the name, cancel the booking (cancellation conditions apply) and make a new booking.

Cancel up to 48 hours before the reservation date: AED 120 cancellation fee applies.
Cancel less than 48 hours before: 20% of rental value + AED 120 cancellation fee; balance refunded within 7 business days.
No-show on booking date: No refund.
Early return: No refund for unused days.

Notify Habat Car Rental if you wish to extend the lease. Extension costs will be charged to the client.

In case of accident/damage, do not remove the vehicle. Call the police immediately and obtain a police report.
A damaged vehicle will not be accepted without a valid police report.
Damage to tires and windshield is not covered by insurance.
Submit the police report to the landlord immediately. Otherwise, the lessee must pay for car downtime, all damages, and any replacement vehicle rental.
Lessee is not allowed to repair or replace any part of the vehicle.
If the car is confiscated due to misuse, the renter is responsible for all related costs, including total vehicle cost, fines, and third-party claims.
Insurance may be canceled if the renter violates conditions; the renter will be liable for all costs.

Do not carry illegal, flammable, explosive, or corrosive materials.
Do not exceed the vehicle’s passenger capacity.
Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Do not drive outside the UAE.
Do not carry passengers for hire or use the vehicle for motorsport, racing, towing, or off-road driving.
Do not allow unauthorized drivers or sublease the vehicle.
Do not violate any law or smoke in the vehicle (penalty applies).

The lessee agrees to indemnify the lessor, subsidiaries, and employees against all claims and demands arising from the lessee’s use or operation of the vehicle.

Drivers: Authorized to deliver vehicles and facilitate signing rental agreements after verifying vehicle condition and confirming handover.
Sales Agents: Authorized to handle all rental agreement aspects, verify customer details, confirm terms, and ensure accurate documentation before delivery.
Both roles must verify customer identity and adhere to company policies before signing any agreement.
